The Aircon compressor on my 2013 ZOE failed in January 2019 and created a short circuit on the compressor motor which prevented the car from starting. The car was trailered to my nearest Renault dealer (50+ miles away) and a new compressor fitted for around £1500, parts & labour. I got the car back on 31 January 2019.

A couple of weeks ago, the compressor started to get noisy again with a considerable amount of vibration, and the car was taken in to the dealer for assessment. They concluded that the compressor was about to fail and a new one was required. £1500+ again for parts & labour. Well sir, the warranty is only for 12 months.

After some meaningful discussion, the dealership spoke to Reanault and the result was 75% off from Renault and 10% off from the dealer. The net bill now is 15% of the quoted cost and I will pay £228.77 when I get the car back tomorrow. So well done Renault and Lookers. Hopefully this compressor will last more than 12 months.

It sounds like you were very unlucky, but got to a good outcome.
