I’m about to install one of our PowerBanx systems and it’s not for the low voltage stuff – it’s for running the entire house. Most of the year it will take our daytime solar and use it to power the house in the evening, during the winter it will be topped up with Economy 7. Most of our electricity will then be free, with the top up being at half price.
I’ve just had a two battery Powerbanx system installed for use with my 4kW pv panels setup hoping to achieve a similar outcome as you. I seem to remember that you have more than 4kW of pv installed so I guess you stand a better chance of success. I’m still getting to grips with Solarman and snow on the panels isn’t helping just now.
Glad that the forum seems to be spam free at present with the change of log-in.
mojo36, sorry for being so slow in seeing your message. Yes, I have about 7kWp installed. My aim in the short term is to stop paying full price electricity and instead get by on solar and Economy 7. If I achieve that, I’ll be looking to start charging the car overnight from any solar remaining in the battery, and so cut down on my Eco7 too.
