Was away in China (see other post) when I was supposed to do the upgrading before April 5th.
Have come back, driven around and can’t find anything different. Sat Nav etc seems to be just as before. Maybe it was a scare like the Millenium bug which didn’t really materialise in the end.
Seems to relate to GPS and services you would subscribe to, as I tend to know where I’m going, I never have used any of it in 5 years. Why won’t they keep )cars simple like GM’s EV1?
Another example is tyre monitoring. AFAIK each tyre has a battery transmitter. I get tyre pressure warning when car is cold, disappears when it warms up. Obviously after 3 years these button batteries pack in after that period. When tyres need replacing wouldn’t an alternative tyre suit, or would the monitoring go loopy?
