As a new owner of a new Zoe R110 I was surprised that there is no artificial sound on reversing. The artificial tone works between +0-20 mph but nothing on reversing. Assuming it is not a fault with our car, this is a serious design weakness. Already we have had two incident in car parks with pedestrians being unaware of the car coming out of the parking space. I would imagine that this could be rectified by reprogramming the computer but no one at Renault has offered this as a solution.

Renault don’t listen to customers and nothing will change.
I’ve been asking all my life why they won’t fit a light bulb to the area behind the driver so that the light comes on when you open the rear doors, not the tailgate. No answer.

Apparently reversing sounds are not permitted for cars in the UK, so it’s not Renault’s fault.

If you don’t mind going non-standard, it’s possible to replace the reversing light bulb with one that makes a noise too.
