First time ever I’ve had this caption appear on the dash: Speed limiter – – – mph followed by a simple pic of what looks like a speedo dial.
Anyone know what this means and why it has appeared? As far as I can tell it doesn’t seem to affect the car and its driving in any way. Just curious.
    Thanks

The switch you turn on the cruise control with is also the switch for the speed limiter, its a two way switch.

As you know cruise control holds your speed at the speed you set it at, speed limiter is set the same way (say at 70 mph on a motorway) and will stop you going over that speed, unless you floor the accelerator which overides speed limiter.

Ha. Thanks Mo. That just shows how often I’ve used the cruise control – ie, nil. (Can’t see the point on our crowded roads where you’re always having to slow up or accelerate around other vehicles.) My wife used the Zoe before me and must have knocked the button on the steering wheel or the rocker switch by the gear lever.
    Anyway, I know now.
    Cheers.

I hardly ever use cruise nowadays, but I now use the speed limiter most of the time; it lets you drive normally in traffic without fear of going over the limit.
