I had to remove a door panel today, to reattach a nut which had come free from the window mechanism (much rattling). I have attached a zip file with pictures in case it helps somebody in the future. Filenames should make it self-explanatory to:
– prise off housing near mirror and remove Torx T30
– remove Torx T15 screws x 3 on perimeter of panel
– (optionally) remove armrest insert (including the window motor switch) with Torx T15 (noting that the thread for this screw is different from the 3 above, so don’t confuse them when reassembling). Removing this insert gives a good handhold for the next stages
– prise the panel away from the door edge, starting with the top lip at the window. You’ll need to lift the panel a little to get it over the door ledge.
– unpop perimeter press-fit studs (noting that this requires a fair bit of force but will pop off and (I hope) not damage the studs))
– lift off the panel (making sure that the two attached black cables don’t become disconnected unless you want them to)
(Attachment file size limit: I have more pics; please contact me and I can email them to you. [For my reference when you contact me – pictures are dated 10 June 2017].)

That’s very useful. What nut had come loose?
Thanks, after 2 years of buzzing, rattles that were driveng me crazy, I removed the 2 front door panels and found loose, rattling windo slider on passenger side and nut completely off on drivers side, nut was still inside panel so just put it back on with a bit of loctite to secure. The nut in question is circled in the attached pic.

Thank you so much Concord – I’ve just fixed the same annoying rattle. Reflecting, while out for a test drive to test the fix, that the Internet really is an amazing and wonderful thing!
Thanks again for taking the time to take the photos and post the procedure here.
best regards,
Andrew
