I’d say turn temp down to cool setting and turn aircon off, that should just blow air.

I just ate 3% of the battery while updating r-link again (last time as I’ve sussed it now). It’s 1 degree here so I had the heater running with “engine on” for an hour.

I believe Dan is right. I am under the impression that the battery rental rate is non-negotiable. As such, it’s £50/month for 7500 miles/year or £57/month for 9000 miles/year, no haggling since its Renault that set it, not the dealer.

I expect that explains why he can’t key the price he told you… Computer says no!

If I were you I would resign to the fact that you’re going to have to be on one of the brochure rates, but use the fact that the dealer over-promised as a bargaining tool to get some other freebie thrown in to compensate, such as a free servicing package maybe.

I think the 7.5p per mile excess is very fair and even going for the 7500 mile option and expecting to go over a bit is not bad. Even if you go over by a thousand miles or so each year and pay the 7.5p (so about an extra £75 or so), you’re not far off the extra £7 a month (£84 per year) anyhow.

Anyone on the 30p per mile excess would probably need to keep an eye on it though!

We went into the dealership today to sign paperwork for the battery lease, but the price was wrong and the dealer said that their is something up with the renault system as it won’t let him choose the price he quoted – £50/month for 9,000pa.

Didn’t get any further into the contract so not sure what the excess is.

Awesome deal! Shame it was cash only; imagine getting a GFV of £6k on that after 3 years! 😉

I don’t think the battery rental is a short-term offer; there’s no expiry date in the current brochure:

    http://brochures.renault.co.uk/pdf/zoe.pdf

The website still shows the old prices, but I believe it was never updated, it’s been that way all year and never showed the lower prices.

I’m expecting that brochure to be updated soon (eg. with new motor), so will be interesting to see the prices there (and whether Renault have taken other things away, like in the last few updates!).

Right, so after the teething problems I have put pen to paper, been given the reg no and the delivery date of between the 7th and 15th of April. I have had a call from RUK following up on my concerns re everything and she is to geegee up BG to get my charger installed quickly.

As a side note, it is in my battery leasing paperwork that excess mileage is 7.5p a mile and not 30p.

Wow, such blinding deals , you’d have to be a muppet to pay loads more for the vastly inferior leaf.
And as you say @dafmeuk it’s not worth worrying about depreciation at that sort of money.
Did you both get on the reduced battery rates or is it back to original prices ? I seem to have been lucky to get the £50 a month rate.

Mike, the Renault site suggests the 30A/7Kw charger is standard..

Exclusively for retail customers, a combination of government funding and Renault funding means our charging partner, British Gas, can install a free 7KW tethered wall box at your home when you order a ZOE.

Its 7kW capacity means that your ZOE’s battery can be recharged from completely flat to 100% in just 3 to 4 hours, and Z.E. Ready certification means it’ll work perfectly with the car.

The dealer should do firmware updates. They need to plug the car in and do electric checks as part of the service, to my knowledge. I would imagine that they at least check the health of the battery. I haven’t asked my dealer for any updates, to be honest. I update R-Link myself.

For people with very low mileage, there’s now a battery rental option at 750 miles/quarter at £25/month.

My wife is only doing 2k/year, so we took that option (and based her PCP on 3k/yr to match).

I’m doing 8k year, so my battery rental and PCP are both based on 9k/year.
