Finally ZOE is on its way!  I was starting to laugh at the situation, it reminded me of socialism when we (yugoslavia) had the money, but the stores were empty 🙂

I agree with Per. My home socket is my freedom. We should push Renault. Cars are supposed to make me independent and Renault is trying to push me through the bottleneck of charging stations. I wonder why?

And here it is-the first ZOE on MOBILE.de  (from french salon).    Who’s gonna buy it guys?

The main Renault reseller in Denmark told me they get their ZOE training on the week of April 22 and they start deliveries about two weeks later, which seems to be the same time as in Holland.

I’m facing a major dilemma now:

1. Buy the ZOE and be seriously restricted in where I can drive, there is a charging pod 85km from my home, next one is 300km away. This would mean I could drive about 75km maximum from my home to be able to safely drive back and charge. With the EVSE cable this would of course not be a problem.

2. The dealer has a Fluence at the same price as the ZOE, driven 3500km. But it seems to be tied into a BetterPlaces scheme where the monthly fee would be around 160Euro, and we have no BP in Sweden, so all the costs and none of the benefits. This would only be interesting if they can remove the BP fees of course.

Sweden is committed to install 14,000 charging stations by 2020, and so far 4 have been installed… So I’m still leaning towards the ZOE and hope that those 13,996 stations will come sooner rather than later.

So sad to live in such a backwards country… In Sweden all charging pods are standard 220V house hold sockets, since ALL EVs (except ZOE) can use these…

Promising is that Renault Sweden told me that they have tested several cables, but none of them had high enough quality. So there is a glimmer of hope that the car accepts the cables, just that Renault is picky. Wonder if those bad cables still charged that car and what the problems were.
