Hi Guys
So day 3 and I’m loving Zoe but no AM radio I am finding that very annoying came home from football tonight and couldn’t listen to 5 live !! unbearable…..I asked Renault London West about the DAB radio upgrade and guess what ??? Yes you guessed it they have no idea what I was talking about, so has anyone had it fitted or know anything about it or found a solution other than a Bluetooth streaming from a mobile phone to enable me to get my AM stations. Thanks

Just a point of reference, the Fluence has the best long wave radio I have ever heard. Not just the best in a car, simply the best I have heard.
Oddly enough, the 12V inverter appears to interfere with the FM – weak channels become completely blocked by radio interference once the ‘ignition’ [must think of a better name for it, now!] is switched on. But while the FM gets blocked by the interference, the LW continues to stream in from all over the planet! Several Irish and French channels in abundance, which I have never head on other LW radios. In fact, the Radio 4 is often better to receive on LW than FM because of this fault.
I’d be interested to find out how the DAB accessory fit goes, if you go ahead with it. Please do post again if you get it done…. perhaps at a dealership that knows about it, though!!
February 20, 2014 at 02:05 #7683Do a search for DAB radio, there is more on this forum about it. However, don’t get your hopes up. I had my car booked in to get it fitted and it doesn’t. After a week Customer Services got back to me and said they do not have a solution for adding DAB to the ZOE (the connectors on the back of the R-Link are not the same as the R-Link on other models). However, do put in the request so they know others want it. Just make sure they double-check it will fit before you lose the car for a day as happened to me!
February 20, 2014 at 05:36 #7685I Have had it fitted not perfect but for 5 live it is great.
They fit a box behind the dashboard and a small aerial on the windscreen the DAB then comes up as one of the presets. It is controlled via the controls on the steering wheel not via the R link screen although the station information dose come up within the preset window.
February 20, 2014 at 10:23 #7686I have a Pure Highway which operates in a similar way to the Renault version, but without the steering wheel channel change.
Old version is quite cheap on eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/pure-highway

February 20, 2014 at 21:13 #7705So after yesterday when Renault London West told me they did not know of a dab upgrade for Zoe ..today they do and Zoe is being dab upgraded next week
February 20, 2014 at 23:57 #7711You guys that are getting it fitted, how old are your ZOE’s? I was very clearly told by dealer, customer services at Renault, and Connects2 that they don’t have a suitable model yet for my ZOE. I’m wondering if there are changes on the latest models or whether I have been told a lot of guff!
