I wouldn’t want to put my info on a website so people can just turn up but sure if any of you are in St Albans area (Junction 9 of the M1) then do get in touch if you are on a planned journey and you can charge and get a cup of tea at same time if we are around.

Likewise I am in Perivale, West London, 2 minutes off the A40. Let me know in advance if you would like to use my charging point and I can give you the address and ensure it’s available for you to use.

Like lndi said, we can do this for free. If anyone is in Stratford upon Avon and needs a charge then do let me know. If I’m in then again you can have a cup of tea too.

I have signed up (successfully?) to plug share.

Happy to help out – live about 7 miles south of Norwich (in a dead zone for electric chargers…)

Well the site is free. very comprehensive. covers the whole of the UK and abroad and gives access to private sites by arrangement with the owners. It also shows public sites. can plan routes to them and is available as a ‘phone app. The search for sites can be filtered to your vehicle and desired location. I find it a useful supplement to the other charging location maps.

Some of us discussed this idea about a year ago but we didn’t progress it. I signed up with one of the public ones (plugshare or plugsurfing) but have never used it. I’m of the view now, with so many fast chargers around, I can always drive a bit further to a fast charger and fast charge and still save time compared to using someone’s home charger.

I’m very happy to offer use of my home charger in Northampton. But again, there’s a fast charger only ten minutes away.
