[See the full post at: Why I’m Replacing My Car With a Renault ZOE (Part 3/3)]February 8, 2014 at 02:39 #7444Surya, I did laugh when I read your reasoning for the colour. I spent about 30 minutes in the showroom trying to decide which colour to order. I have never ordered a new car before so this was a totally new experience for me.
The reason that “won” was the colour that would not show the dirt as badly as the others! So, yes, I have Neptune Grey too. Good choice!
Four or five years ago I had a Grand Espace in an even darker gunmetal grey and in the two or three years I owned it I think I washed it twice. Brilliant.
February 8, 2014 at 04:56 #7445Knowing I’m really lazy when it comes to washing my car, that was quite important indeed. I think I’m averaging once a year currently.
I might do a new post about the installation of the EVSE which should happen early March.
February 8, 2014 at 08:13 #7446Hi Surya. This all sounds familiar about the dealership. Do you live near Gent by any chance?
February 8, 2014 at 14:18 #7458Although the ZOE is not yet available in green I suspect it may soon be, since the ZOE Next Two prototype is in green.

As you live in Belgium, maybe you can help me with a question.
I live in Luxembourg and am looking to buy a Zoe here. The salesperson said that I will only be able to charge it in Benelux, and won’t be able to charge it over the border in France. He said, however, that I could buy an adaptor.
This seems very strange to me. Are you able to charge your Zoe in other countries, or only in Benelux? I live only a few kilometres from the French border, so although I don’t imagine it would happen very often, I would like to know whether it would be possible to travel (for example) into France, recharge and come back…
With many thanks,
Karen
March 16, 2014 at 09:52 #7961Well, Karen, it’s actually the other way around. All countries except the France use the standard adapter, for France the Zoe comes with a different adapter.
It makes no sense, but that does indeed mean that you can charge your Zoe anywhere except France, unless you buy that special cable for use in France.
But I can’t imagine there is NO AC fast charging with the standard Mennekes plug anywhere in France, but I’d have to do some more research for that.March 16, 2014 at 13:32 #7962Hello Surya,
Thank you for getting back to me so promptly with the clarification. I was going to ask WHY does France have a different system from everyone else, but then I re-read your point that it makes no sense!
However, maybe I’ll be able to charge over the border in Germany, if not in France.
Thank you again,
Karen
March 16, 2014 at 17:38 #7965Germany should be no problem, I’ve already seen compatible charge points from RWE there.
