Does it have a label underneath that confirms it is a 30A model?

British Gas man arrived at 8:15 this morning, survey is fine and he’s onto the installation. He was very happy that I wanted the charge point installed next to the consumer unit in the garage’ will need about 50cm of cabling.

I am waiting for British gas to contact me.

In the meanwhile I contacted POD for a different matter. And they sent me an very long email. Just copied the relevant para regarding charge units instalation –

” Thank you for getting in touch with POD Point regarding installing charging points. I am pleased to inform you that you can benefit from the Government’s Home Charging Grant and are therefore eligible for a free 3.6kW POD Point Solo 2 home charge unit. Alternatively for a premium of £90.00 +VAT we can install an upgraded 7kW unit. “

All done, looks pretty neat, only think seems to be that the connector doesn’t seem to fit into the front of the unit to lock?? not a big issue as charger is in the garage, but can other people lock their connector into the charger??

The connector doesn’t lock, it just pushes in to be tidy. The key is for enabling power.

Hmm, think mine has the wrong front panel installed, the hole is way too small for the connector on the end of the lead.
