So does that mean if you pay for the polar card after the free year you don’t need to also pay for PiM? As Ecotricity chargers work with PiM cards I wonder if they will work with an ‘activated’ polar card as well – I’ll have to check… when I actually receive my Polar card!

i’m not sure about paying for the polar card as we have their homecharge stations… – BUT i do know that the Polar card does not work on all charge stations even if you have access to a PIP. e.g. PiM is my local and ‘home’ PIP but my polar card will not work on all points especially APT charge points. only the actual PiM cards work there. something to do with the infrastructure and how the back end is managed… so for the timebeing i think we need to carry around a bunch of cards…

British gas has a new policy.
16A box only, 32A can be purchased.
max up to 10m of cable instead of 30m.

Markus – are you sure that’s right for the ZOE? BG’s policy for the public was always that, but Renault pays the upgrade fee if you buy a ZOE.

    agree with Trevor

i’ve just moved house and Adam from BG confirmed the same. Renault pay the difference of £99. OLEV pay the rest.

BG called me yesterday and told me that. Should I apply via Renault?
My Zoe gets delivered on 21st hopefully.
I asked for a 32A wallbox and they told me To bill me for that.

Yes, the application must go through Renault if you want them to pay the difference. Once Renault has arranged it with BG, it’s fine to talk to BG about the details.

PS: I would recommend that you go through Renault anyway in case there’s a problem – you will have some redress with Renault as well as BG, and if there’s a fault with charging you don’t want Renault to say it’s BG’s installation that’s at fault.

If you buy a demonstrator, you buy a used car and Renault will not sponsor a charging point.
That means you can get a free charging point under BG conditions, with 10m cable. They used 17m, so I had to pay the difference.
