ZoeAl – How bizarre! I would have thought that Renault dealership in totality had access to same insurance, contracts etc. If a dealer is selling Zoes they should have access to the same insurance that others are using to allow customers this flexibility.
As drive-away is really just a sales ploy as it’s a way to get a quote. Like GAP insurance & paint protection to my knowledge dealers look for the best deal themselves, rather than being dictated by the manufacturer.
No idea what you mean Zoe Al. I did not get a quote nor was I approached to be sold insurance. No one was interested in me. It simply allowed me to drive out of the showroom home before needing to start my own personal insurance which I had ready to go because I had a long lead time on my car. For someone who wants to purchase more quickly…drive-away or dealer insurance is ideal.
All previous drive-always I have had in the past have had offering a quote as a prerequisite so apologies for being presumptuous. When the salesman was entering the details it asked him to call when they confirmed they don’t cover Zoe’s. The drive-away details were on a generic multi franchise Westover folder / welcome letter so the company is used group wide, not just by the Renault dealers.
The drive-away insurance was never even mentioned by the dealer, probably because it wouldn’t cover the battery.
Our driveaway insurance was listed as an “i” ZOE (battery included), so I presumed that’s how they did it.
We said we didn’t want the driveaway insurance because last time we spent ages answering questions on the phone. Dealer said none of that was required, and just did it himself and sent us the paperwork (we did get a 6 emails each from them, with quotes that were 3x every other quote, ofcourse!).
