Thanks. So far it’s been quite a learning curve – just preparing for it and trying to figure out what I need. All this charging cards, charging rate Kwh, rapid, standard, R-Link, Granny business is all very confusing. I’m hoping to pick most of it up as I go along or just wing it… :s
June 16, 2015 at 16:23 #19721Same here, @madmac:
you learn as you go along.I don’t even have my home charging point yet (I’m renting, and even though my landlord was fine with it, it was a battle to get the property management company to agree – I got the approval today. (Happy days! 🙂 )
But I’ve been lucky since I have a train station about 3 minutes drive away, with decent free public chargers.
I’m sure you’ll be grand once you have her. 🙂
July 15, 2015 at 14:21 #21227By way of introduction, I am due to take delivery on Friday of a new Zoe Dynamique Zen in white as a second car. The car was an unsold vehicle with my local dealer in White with Protection pack and Luxury Pack.
I am planning on using the car for my commute from Harrow NW London to the City of London, a trip of just under 30 miles. For over thirty years I have always used public transport, but with the current deals on offer from Renault I can run the Zoe for less than my train fares. With added benefit of no congestion charge and free parking at meters in certain parts of central London. I will be having a charging point installed at home at the beginning of August, and in the meantime my dealer will loan me a ‘three pin’ lead to plug in at the mains socket in my garage.
Like most people my main concern is of course range anxiety, and having to deal with London traffic on a daily basis!!
However for my typical local journeys the car should prove ideal, and its size, ease of driving, and quietness even on the motorway when I tested it, all impressed. And a very generous list of standard equipment all helped in my decision.
Obviously I hope all goes well, and I don’t find myself stuck without power at the roadside !!!!
Regards
KeithJuly 15, 2015 at 16:56 #21241Hi Keith,
If I can use my own experience to reassure you over your range anxiety then hope this helps.
I have owned a Zoe from October 2013 and regularly used it for a commute of 30 miles each way from Chessington, Surrey to Elstree in North London, a mixture of busy roads, low average speeds and the dreaded North Circular! And no chance of charging at work.
Zoe never failed me!
I would get a charge of 78 miles (min in winter) to 100 miles (in the heat of summer) and I always used everything on my Zoe, air con, headlights, radio, bluetooth, SatNav, wipers etc and never used the Eco mode. And regularly I would arrive home having used fewer miles than I thought possible. I drove fairly sensibly, using the cruise control a lot, set to the speed limits, and trying to anticipate junctions so the car slowed using the regenerative effect to best effect.
But one of the most surprising thing was when I was stuck in the inevitable traffic jam on the North Circular the car used almost no power. On the odd occasion my 1 1/4 hr journey took 2 1/2 hrs I actually used less “miles” than usual, terrific! So have no worries, go ahead, enjoy your Zoe!
Regards,
Peter
July 16, 2015 at 06:56 #21279What Peter says is in line with my experiences. Keep in mind that standing still in a traffic jam won’t use a lot of energy (mostly aux things like the stereo or aircon) so it shouldn’t hurt range too much. I’m sure you’ll be fine. After 2 weeks you’ll have a good feel of how to get what kinds of ranges from the car, and you’ll be very comfortable.
I’ve never run out. I’ve come close twice, but in both cases I felt confident I would make it to the charge point I was driving to. I’ve gone down past the limits of the range predictor once, where it shows no range remaining, but at that moment you still have about 5m of range left.
Tip: use the satnav. It will show distance remaining. If your predicted range is dropping towards the distance you still have to travel simply slow down or make a detour to a charger. Simple.

We had our chargemaster point fitted about three weeks ago
We have ordered a White Dynamique Nav with DAB on a 2 year PCP deal
I guess looking at the forum, I will be lucky if I have it before Xmas!!!July 28, 2015 at 08:55 #21845Looks fantastic Buzzar, sits very nicely on the 17″ alloys.
We’ve ordered a Dynamique Nav in White, from Renault Shrewsbury, delivery due in November “ish”.
August 2, 2015 at 12:15 #22004Could you please update my owner status please Trevor?
No problem, done. For those not familiar with the Owner Status Page I tracked all original owners of the ZOE, until 2014, but now there are far too many owners for me to keep tracking them.
August 6, 2015 at 11:43 #22106Hallo All
Ordered Dynamique Nav on 2-year lease from Renault Salisbury and intend to replace with updated longer-range model in due course. Would like to hear from anyone who manages to do a 100 miles round trip in the Dynamique without a recharge. My longest trip is likely to be Salisbury-Wells return and charge points en route are few and slow. Car is due (hopefully) December and Chargemaster home installation is scheduled early November.
