Hi all,
A few people have mentioned turning up to collect their Zoes and dealers not having everything in order. Is there a checklist of things we might need to prompt them to do (SD cards, and is the SIM card involved somewhere)?
August 3, 2013 at 14:54 #4349I’m not sure I could give a definitive list, but here’s a go:
- Paperwork for car, and battery, finance for you to sign
- SD card – if the satnav is working then this is already accounted for
- Tax application – though the tax disc comes later
- Any options you asked for – including teflon protection, GAP insurance, etc.
- Make sure to ask for your 7 days complimentary insurance – I think my dealer had forgotten it until I asked
- Charging cable and the bag for it (both of mine came poly wrapped)
- User’s handbook – mine consists of a wallet with the ZOE user guide, plus a quick guide for the ZOE and R-Link. Oddly, there was no full guide for the R-Link.
- Check the paintwork – mine had a small blemish that I didn’t notice until later, and other ZOEs have had significant problems.
- Make sure you ask in advance for it to be fully charged.
- Activation numbers for any Z.E. Services

I don’t know what the situation is with the SIM and online services generally – mine still aren’t available. My impression from the French forum is that you got an activation number with the car that you used to activate the services online. However, the guys at my dealership are saying that they need to activate it through their computers – but it keeps coming back saying the server is down or something like that. I’ll chase it next week.I’d also recommend applying for charging point access cards as soon as you get a registration number.
August 5, 2013 at 11:46 #4373You can apply for SourceEast (also giving Plugged In Midlands and SourceLondon access), Polar and Ecotricity cards before you get your reg number – just put in your old reg. I’ve already got SE and Polar cards, and Ecotricity should be soon. I spoke to all three of them (they seem quite small operations) and they’ve all said this is fine. I haven’t gone for any other networks because these should cover all my needs.
Obviously if you’re going for the BG home charger then you should get the Polar card anyway, once that’s all sorted.
August 5, 2013 at 17:39 #4377My car went in for R-Link update on 18th July and after speaking to workshop service manager he sent me to the salesman Nigel to activate the sim. Nigel had been on a one day course on R-Link the previous friday, bearing in mind that the Clio was launched in March and the Zoe in June what are Reno doing! Anyway I still have no email, the R-Link store seems a no go as a prompt comes up at the bottom of the screen ‘unauthorised payment’ if I try and download an app even a free one. Reno UK keep texting me and asking if the sim has been activated I’ve told them what’s not working but nobody’s following up trying to clear these issues. I think I will wait until more cars have been delivered so these issues can come out in the open and perhaps get sorted.

It has been known for them to get it wrongAugust 9, 2013 at 10:16 #4436At last my sim has been activated. Reno UK text me on wednesday to say the sim would be activated tomorrow sadly this did not happen yesterday but this morning I am now able to receive emails and download products from the RLink store only 6 weeks after delivery of the car. Reno are not doing themselves justice and are spoiling the experience of this great car by not giving the correct information to the customers, their customer services are rubbish. I have accepted their service because of my desire for the vehicle but the general public might not be so forgiving.

April 23, 2014 at 23:08 #8372Just ordered my Intens hoping for delivery in a week or so. Thanks to Trevor for the great web site – it has been a great resource for me in deciding to buy / lease the car. Charge point hopefully coming before car……
April 24, 2014 at 21:42 #8374No worries! It’s a great car, unfortunately you will have to deal with Renault to get it.
December 19, 2014 at 11:58 #11146That it’s fully charged, not that it was fully charged a few days ago and then various people unkown to the salesman tootled around in it for a number of ‘short errands!.
