What motorway speed do you sit at and what mode do you drive in?

I just did a 60 mile round trip and used most of the battery. On the way there I drove 65/70 in normal mode and it’s mostly up hill, so at times saw a draw of 40+ kW from the battery. Driving back I kept it in ECO and set the cruise to 60. It felt like hard work , but probably because I’m not used to 60, but the battery did seem to hold out better.

So, what do you do and what is your expected motorway range?

56mph behind a lorry. Awesome range.

in ECO Sam? What’s an awesome range? 60? 70 miles?

I was worried about having a lack of power to accelerate out of trouble?

If you floor it in Eco it will override and give the beans. I’d expect nearer to 80-90. At 50 mph in Eco you should see 100miles. Only in this warm weather though.

Ah, ok. I’ve not tried flooring it in ECO, just noticed it ran out of puff at 60!

It’s just finished charging, well I stopped it at 99%, and is showing 98.9 miles range, so getting better, even after the motorway stint.

Eco restricts speed to 60,hslfs the ac/heater and dulls throttle response. Push the pedal to the floor and your wife will moan her neck hurts like mine does ever time I do it.

I’ve seen it written often on another site that Zoe is more efficient at higher speed and Leaf is more efficient at lower speeds. So I’m looking forward to the first time I see a Leaf crawling along the motorway, so I can blast past it to the next rapid lol

The Zoe for the record is not particularly efficient at motorway speed. If you drive 70mph the whole time I would expect a max of 70miles in favourable conditions and not too many hills.

I did a 70mile round trip on Tuesday on Dual/motorway. Half in Eco at 60 with a couple of boosts where necessary. Used up 40-ish% of range. Return leg was initially slower so 10miles so range remained good, I then took full advantage of remaining range and booted it to “less than top speed” for remainder of journey.

Still had sufficient (9 miles) of range to get to work next day to charge.

I think the opposite is true.

    I’d say more like 50.

Indeed, lack of typing skills on my part there. I did a 60mile round trip, 1/2 in eco and 1/2 in normal, used almost all the range, had enough juice for an eco run to work the next day, all in I’d done less than 70miles.

I personally don’t think the Zoe is particularly efficient at slower or high speed, it still seems quite happy to lunch through its 22kw. Only time I’ve seen decent range was when stuck in traffic doing 30mph. 45mph on a country road is slow, 50-55mph is more the norm, but the range falls off quicker then.

I don’t plan on tootling along at 30-40mph, i’m going to drive at 60mph or 70mph on motorway and I’ll just have to live with the reduced range. Fingers crossed Renault appreciate that people what to drive a car at or near the indicated speed limit and give us a bigger battery pack (say 30kwh) so that we can drive the car as intended without stopping every hour to top up. Might happen.

I much prefer staying off the motorways if I can – and so does Zoe!

Just come back from a friends. 51 mile round trip, lovely scenic drive.

    4.5 miles per kWh average.
    Average speed 28.2 mph.

Got home with an indicated range of 55 miles still showing, so would have got over 100 miles today.

She’s now snoozing in the garage charging up on (mostly) Solar power ready for tomorrow’s jaunt to Bristol.
