4.5mpkwh x 22kwh battery = 99miles. Be wary of trusting the Guess-o-Battery too much. Mine was suggesting I would get 112miles after my last charge, but as you get closer to empty the range I’ve found can be either optimistic or pessimistic at a whim.

Better to just multiply up the mpkwh for a more realistic range.

I’ve driven a number of miles with the red — range showing, even had the reduced performance message on a couple of occasions.

There’s a 50mph limit on the section of the M3 which we use most often (J4a to J2). This is doing wonders for the Zoe’s range. We’re consistently getting about 100 miles/charge (now that the weather’s warmed up).

I’m on for another low 90’s miles covered between charge, which is a good improvement up from the low 70’s I was getting a couple of weeks ago. Sadly my commute is equally hilly in both directions lol.

Thought I would try on the motorway today at just sticking to 55mph for the 10 miles I needed to do to get to Knutsforth services from Crewe. The dash displayed 5.29 mpkwh and a full range of 106 once I filled it up.

I can’t admit on an open forum what I did to my Zoe yesterday, but I didn’t realise they could do that! The mpkWh wasn’t so clever though 😀

Did you see the purple dash @aj? In reference to my ‘good zoe’ thread, my wife did the whole journey in Eco at 60mph on the motorways yesterday.

Yes Sam, an angry shade of purple.

It was scorching hot here yesterday (27C) so I took Zoe out of Eco to get the AC blowing proper cold and decided to see what happens if I “went for it”. 25% battery in a handful of miles.

I only have a 50 mile commute to work and can charge at work so can happily “go for it” the whole way and still happily get there. I am so far unable to be able to get the Zoe to do less than 50 miles on a full charge!

We used Eco mode almost the whole of our holiday (as we were doing 45ish miles each way for many trips). Only turned it off when it got too hot for Eco-mode-AC to cool the car.

Samsam’s tip of sitting behind a lorry seems to make a big difference – we did this a few times when we thought we might struggle to get to a charger, and the gap between the distance/estimated range grew quite a bit over the period.

On the way more, around 15 degrees, we managed 107 miles (with a few remaining) on motorway+A34, which was mostly 55-60mph (though AC mostly off, just fans on). I was very impressed!
(We didn’t plan on going that far, but hit a broken charger and had just enough to get to the next one)

The weather was windy over this way yesterday and driving Zoe up the M5 to North Bristol felt like driving a box through a hurricane. She’s not as aerodynamic as my old Toyota Auris and fighting the wind sucked the life out of the battery! A 50 mile round trip used just over 2/3 of the battery – most of it on the way as it’s uphill and was fighting the wind. I was doing 75 on crusie control all the way home though, so lower range to be expected.

Still, not getting as many miles isn’t the end of the world when she’s recharging on solar power this morning 🙂
